Unbelievably Raw
and
Unapologetically Authentic
Sara Ann Bracero is a Latin-American Artist originally from Brooklyn, NY. Her multicultural Caribbean background, along with growing up in New York City, and her fascination of color all richly influences her artwork and outlook on life. The epicenter of art and museums, New York City plays an active role in the decision to become an artist at a young age. Her earliest memories include experiencing exhibits of Pablo Picasso, Edgar Degas, Claude Monet and many renowned artists. Currently, Sara Ann is living her fullest potential of the human experience we call “Life” by visually capturing moments and emotions through different styles of fine arts, photography and writing. You can typically catch her frequently out in public places drawing in her sketchbook.
Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art with a minor in Journalism & Electronic Media from The University of Tennessee and a certificate in Social Media Management from Kennesaw State University. She was working on her Master’s in Art Education at The University of Florida. After the Covid-19 Pandemic, Sara Ann decided to return to her first love of Animation and Visual Effects in film and pursued a Master’s in Animation & VFX at The Academy of Art University.
In addition to being an active artist, certified Art Teacher (K-12) and professional contractor, Sara Ann’s hobbies include painting, spoken word performances, collecting shells from beaches, camping, reading and dancing. She is a loving mother to a wonderful and charismatic teenager, Sean; a colony of sassy and silly sugar gliders named Princess Peachy, Meany, Baby Girl, Zoomy and Buddy; two large doggies who mistakenly think they are the size of chihuahuas, Apollo and Luna; and Drakko the bearded dragon who’s side eye would make the most opinionated person bashful and out-of-sorts.
As an artist, Sara Ann focuses on where she is in her journey as a person, a mother, a woman, and an educator because all these elements are pluralistic to her life. She believes Art is a fluid force that provides a positive impact in education and every-day life by improving communication, self-esteem and interconnectivity with the world. Sara Ann utilizes Art as a platform for challenging herself to push past boundaries and expand self-awareness, to help cultivate and empower others as well as express thoughts of contemporary issues in the global community. Much of her artwork represents nature, dreams and the acceptance and integration of one’s own self-perception and self-worth in a fast-paced society dictated by segmented stereotypes, imposed clichés and double standards. She firmly believes that we all want acceptance in where we are and who we are in that present moment of our life journey without any pressure of what a person should look like due to their past, gender, social status, etc. Sara acknowledges her scars of a challenged childhood and has learned to accept herself. She is a warrior, mother, survivor, empath, artist and hopes others will feel inspired to be unbelievably raw and unapologetically authentic through Art and in their own life.
